South sensation Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday’s action drama ‘Liger’ may have opened to mixed response online, but that hasn’t affected the film’s digital release deal. While the South sensation makes his Bollywood debut today with Puri Jagannadh’s film (Telegu version has already arrived in theatres), the makers of the project have finally completed a deal with a popular streaming platform for action drama’s digital release.
According to reports making rounds on the internet, the makers have ‘Liger’ have agreed to a deal with Disney Plus Hotstar. And with Deverakonda pocketing Rs 25 crore from the sports action-drama, experts believe that Disney Plus Hotstar have reportedly paid a huge amount to secure the digital rights of the newly released film.
While the digital release date of the film is still unknown, ‘Liger’ is the first Telegu film to release after Tollywood’s producers guild agreed to having an eight-weeks window before the film’s release on any only streaming platform.
In addition to Deverakonda and Ananya Panday, the Puri Jagannadh also features Ramya Krishna, Makarand Deshpande and Ronit Roy in significant roles. Plus, the extended cameo by legendary boxer Mike Tyson has surely added more star power to the project.
