‘The Rings Of Power’, ‘Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives 2’, ‘Cuttputlli’: Movies/Shows Releasing This Week

This week Bollywood does not have any big releases hitting the theatres, however, there are plenty OTT shows and movies to keep you busy this weekend. Some of the best releases to watch out for include The Rings of Power as well as the documentary House Of Hammer. On the other hand, there are few releases that are bound to be the best cringe binge or one-time watches like Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives.

Everything releasing this week (August 28 to September 4) on OTT platform and on the big screen:

Cuttputlli (Disney Plus Hotstar) September 2
Akshay Kumar-starrer thriller is a direct OTT release. The film directed by Ranjit M Tewari follows Arjan Sethi (played by Akshay) a dutiful sub-inspector who took an oath to keep the people of Kasauli safe. He sets out to fulfill his promise when a killer strikes from the shadows of terror, leaving behind no trace of evidence, except a trail of bodies for the cops to find out.

The Lord of the Rings – The Rings of Power (Amazon Prime Video) September 2
The Lord of the Rings prequel show is set to premiere this week with two episodes on the OTT platform. The show takes place in the second age of Middle Earth as Elves, Dwaffs, Men and more begin their season of the evil left behind by Morgoth – master of Sauron.

House Of Hammer (Discovery Plus) September 2
The documentary attempts to uncover the secrets of the five generations of the Hammer family. Led by Casey Hammer the series also explores actor Armand Hammer’s sexual assault allegations and takes a deeper dive into scandals of other men in the family.

Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives Season 2 (Netflix) September 2
The Netflix show led by Neelam Kothari Soni, Maheep Kapoor, Seema Khan and Bhavana Pandey is returning for season 2. The last season saw many cameos from Ananaya Pandey, Gauri Khan, Janhvi Kapoor and more. It has been described by the streaming platform as, “Cameras follow the banter and bonding between four fun-loving women from Bollywood’s inner circle as they juggle professions, family and friendship.”

Beast (Theatres) September 2
The survival thriller film directed by Baltasar Kormakur is led by Idris Elba alongside Iyana Halley, and Leah Sava Jeffries. Set in Savannah, the film follows a father (Idris) and his two teenage daughters, who take a trip across the jungle but are caught in a hunt by a rogue lion.

Spider-Man: No Way Home The Extended Version (Theatre – Limited) September 2
The extended version of Tom Holland’s Spiderman is hitting the big screen once again this weekend. The film also starring previous web slingers Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire follows Peter Parker of MCU trying to erase his identity from everyone’s mind. However, when Dr Strange casts a spell it backfires bringing in every human and creature across MCU who knows Spiderman. Directed by John Watts, the film also stars Zendaya, and Benedict Cumberbatch.
