The Indian film industry houses some of the biggest iconic films of all time. There are decades worth of history behind the film industry which has now become one of the biggest industries in the world. However, we are yet to witness a cinematic universe, a popular concept in western cinema like the one Marvel or DC has created.
Going by the latest trends, Ayan Mukerji is aiming to achieve similar success with his upcoming film Brahmastra. However, celebrated filmmaker Rohit Shetty established a universe long ago in Bollywood with Ajay Devgn’s Singham. Bringing back the macho policeman avatar, explosive action coupled with mass dance numbers, the director delivered a complete package of typical Bollywood entertainer ventures with his cop universe. Apart from both the editions of Singham, Rohit Shetty also directed Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi—who was credited for reviving theatres after the pandemic—and Ranveer Singh’s Simmba.
Now, Rohit Shetty is all set to begin filming the third instalment of crowd-favourite Singham with Ajay Devgn. In an interview with Pinkvilla, the 49-year-old revealed that the work on Singham 3 has already begun before adding, ”It has been a long time since I made an out and out Singham film,” The shooting will commence in April next year as Ajay Devgn is busy with his commitments while Rohit Shetty finishes Cirkus with Ranveer Singh.
The director did not give out many details of the venture but managed to hype up the fans by hinting at the big-scale project. ”It is going to be the biggest cop universe ever that we have made till date,” the director said. Additionally, the actor had also revealed to the outlet that he is working on a female cop film too.
