With many Bollywood actors like Akshay Kumar, Kangana Ranaut, Ajay Devgn, Amitabh Bachchan and others, coming out in support of PM Narendra Modi and his ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign by changing their profile picture online. While the campaign continues to gain momentum online, actor-turned-politician Prakash Raj has criticised it, claiming that it would make earning livelihood difficult for khadi workers.
Speaking at a press conference in Mysuru, Prakash Raj urged the ruling party to focus on ‘lowering inflated prices’ while creating more job opportunities. But on the contrary they have only made things difficult for khadi workers in the nation. “I do not get the BJP’s idea of nationalism and their love for the country. If they love India so much, they must focus on bringing down the inflated prices and creating employment opportunities for the country’s youth,” the ‘Singham’ actor said.
It is a special 2nd August today! At a time when we are marking Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, our nation is all set for #HarGharTiranga, a collective movement to celebrate our Tricolour. I have changed the DP on my social media pages and urge you all to do the same. pic.twitter.com/y9ljGmtZMk

Well, that wasn’t all as the 57-year-old actor even criticised BJP for not allowing small-scale industries to excel by charging exorbitant taxes. While Prakash Raj gave an example of bidi workers in the country, he added, “No person is above the taxpayer in democracy and we should stop treating leaders like they are kings.”
With a long list of interesting regional projects like ‘Poikkal Kuthirai’, ‘Thiruchitrambalam’, ‘Shaakuntalam’, ‘Viruman’ and Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus project ‘Ponniyin Selvan: I’ in the pipeline, Prakash Raj fans are in for a real treat soon.
