Actor Mukesh Khanna is synonymously known as the early 90s superhero Shaktimaan. However, for the fans, the image of their childhood hero is slowly getting tarnished by the actor’s personal beliefs and very damaging public statements. The actor recently said that girls who ask for sex are not good women and that they are running a business.
Mukesh Khanna has uploaded a video on his YouTube channel, Bheeshm International warning people about scams on social media accounts. In the video, the actor talks about comments on social media posts, in which a user lures naive men by expressing a wish to talk to them or inviting them to have sex with them. While we understand the actor wanted to warn his fans of such dangers, he took it too far by claiming that such accounts were owned by women who ran business and naive men shouldn’t be lured by them.
In the video title ‘Kya aapko bhi aisi ladkiya lubhati hain? (Do such girls lure you as well)’, the veteran actor added that such accounts persuade a person to send their nude pictures and then use it to blackmail them for money. He said, “Koi bhi ladki agar kisi ladke ko kahe ‘I want to have sex with you’, wo ladki, ladki nahi hai, wo dhanda kar rahi hai. Kyunki is tarah ki nirlaj baatein koi sabhya samaj ki ladki kabhi nahi karegi (If any girl tells a boy that she wants to have sex with him, then she is not a girl, she is actually running a sex racket. Because a decent girl of a civilized society will never say such things).”
According to his belief half of the world is not sabhya, given that he believes women who’d want sex don’t come from sabhya samaj. What made us furious was his statements saying that if such girls (who ask for or want sex) actually exist, then society has suffered a downfall. It’s like, the actor has been living in a different world and has never heard about the concept of modern dating, or lust or that love can be expressed in more than one ways.
Talking about his youth, he said women had the privilege to say ‘no’ but now men are the ones who have to no. Mukesh Khanna calling a woman’s right to say ‘no’ as a privilege is very concerning, as much as believing that men didn’t have to say no before.
A video clip of the post has gone viral on social media and many are disappointed in the veteran actor’s statements. A viewer said, “When Shakti and maan (respect) dono leaves you.” Another added, “Okay boomer.” Another comment said, “Amazing logic. I understand though, that no girl might have said this to him. So it’s great for him to remain in this delusion for life.
We officially welcome Mukesh Khaana to 21st century, where women can ask for whatever they want and it’s none of his ‘dhanda’.
