‘Liger’ Star Vijay Deverakonda Meets Theatre Owner Who Called Him Arrogant; Latter Says ‘He Is A Really Very…’

Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday starrer Liger made all the possible buzz but not for the best reasons. The sports action film, directed by Puri Jagannadh, turned out to be a huge box office failure. Many blamed the terrible plot and screenplay for it while many believe it became the latest victim of Bollywood’s ongoing notorious boycott trend.

Due to its poor box office collection, the executive director of Gaiety Galaxy and Maratha Mandir Cinema, Manoj Desai, tagged Vijay Deverakonda as ‘arrogant’ for his ‘kaun rokega dekh lenge’ comment. The theatre owner seemed to have made amends with the Tollywood star as the duo recently met up. After the meeting, Manoj Desai retracted his statement and reportedly apologized for his remark toward the young actor.

The videos and images of their meeting have gone viral on social media where the Liger star could be seen talking to the theatre owner. In the video, the 33-year-old explained that his statement was taken out of context and affirmed that he respects the audience. After their chat, Manoj Desai seemed to have gotten impressed by him as the duo embraced each other while the former sang his praises. Check out the video below.

For those unaware, ahead of Liger‘s release, Vijay Deverakonda spoke about the boycott trend, as quoted by Indian Express, ”I don’t think there needs to be any fear even now. Maa ka aashirwaad hai, Logon ka pyaar hai, Bhagwaan ka haath hai, andar aag hai, Kaun rokenge dekh lenge”.

After the massive box office failure, the theatre owner told BollywoodLife that the actor has become arrogant and needs to learn a lesson from past box office disasters like Taapsee Pannu’s Dobaaraa, Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan.

”Mr Vijay, it seems, you have become arrogant, ‘Watch the movie or if you don’t wish to, then don’t watch’, haven’t you seen its impact. I had high expectations from the movie, but such statements during the interview had harsh impacts. One shouldn’t do this and never pay heed to hashtags,” Manoj Desai said in the interview.
