'Laal Singh Chaddha' Witnesses Steep Fall At Box Office; Aamir Khan Starrer Likely To Be Removed From Cinemas Soon

Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha has a bleak chance to survive at the box office beyond this week as it reportedly witnesses a steep, 85%, fall at the box office. The movie had been victim of the negative boycott trend, plus Bollywood’s dry spell did not help the movie’s business. It has now been reported that Laal Singh Chaddha will likely be removed from the cinemas completely. Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan will also be seeing the same fate as the Aamir Khan starrer.

As per a Bollywood Hungama report, Laal Singh Chaddha garnered Rs 1.85 to Rs 2.15 crore, bringing the total box office collection to Rs 48 crore in five days. After the end of long weekend, i.e on Tuesday, almost 70 percent of Laal Singh Chaddha shows were cancelled. According to media reports and prediction Laal Singh Chaddha will only manage to garner Rs 55-57 crore before leaving the theaters.

Laal Singh Chaddha hit the theatres on August 11 and is a remake of the 1994 movie Forrest Gump starring Tom Hanks. The movie also stars Kareena Kapoor and Naga Chaitanya in his Hindi film debut. The official synopsis of the movie reads, “Laal Singh Chaddha, a simple man whose extraordinary journey will fill you with love, warmth, happiness and will also make you laugh.”
