From Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak in 1988 to Laal Singh Chaddha in 2022, it was a long journey for Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan. The veteran actor is the son of producer Tahir Hussain and is the eldest of his four siblings. Despite coming from a film background, the 57-year-old’s initial years of life were filled with hardships due to his family’s debt.
In an interview with Humans of Bombay, the veteran actor got emotional as he recalled his family going through a financial crisis which affected his education for eight years. The money was so tight in his family that they were unable to pay the actor and his siblings’ school fees on time which was around ₹6 for the 6th standard, ₹7 for the 7th standard, ₹8 for the 8th standard and so on at that time. The actor also recalled how the school principal would call out their names in a school assembly for being late to pay the fees.
Looking back at his journey, the veteran actor reportedly had tears in his eyes. Aamir Khan is now one of the highest-paid actors in Bollywood. Currently, he is busy gearing up for the release of Laal Singh Chaddha, the Hindi adaptation of the Hollywood classic Forrest Gump starring Tom Hanks. The Advait Chandan directorial will open in theatres on August 11, 2022.
