'I Love When People Think I'm Dumb'; Alia Bhatt Gives Befitting Reply To Trolls Before Correctly Naming India's Prez

From being a star kid to debuting in a Dharma film, Alia Bhatt fits into every category that provides trolls with opportunities and topics to target her. Over the years, the young actor may have proved her acting mettle by taking up challenging and versatile roles but she could not escape the incessant trolling on social media about her past.

The past in question is Koffee With Karan season 4 where she appeared with Student Of The Year co-stars, Siddharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan. Upon being asked who the president of India is in a rapid-fire round by Karan Johar, the 29-year-old chimed in ‘Prithviraj Chauhan’. Her co-stars were just as shocked as the rest of us were. Thus commenced the merciless trolling that would not spare her side for the coming decade or so.

Addressing the same during an Indian Express event, as per reported by Hindustan Times, Alia Bhatt correctly named India’s current President Droupadi Murmu Ji. Talking about her journey over the years whilst traversing through the trolls and, oftentimes, offensive comments, Alia Bhatt said, ”I love it when people think that I am unintelligent, or that ‘oh she is so dumb.’ I genuinely do, because they make so many memes on me which add to the popularity, and then it’s like you are loving my movie,”

She also took this opportunity to address the young girls who might face a similar situation in future by saying, ”general knowledge and bookish intelligence in my opinion is not intelligence. To survive in a world, you have to have a certain emotional intelligence, which is possibly the highest form of intelligence.” Interestingly, Alia reportedly insisted that she knew the answer to the question on Koffee With Karan season 4.
