‘House Of The Dragon’ Surprise Twist Leaves ‘Game Of Thrones’ Fans Disappointed; Here’s Why

After a long wait, the makers of ‘House of the Dragon’ finally dropped their first episode earlier this week. While the newly arrived series is the first spin-off of ‘Game of Thrones’, the makers have already established a connection between the two. But seems like fans aren’t happy with the ‘House of the Dragon’ surprise twist as it has eventually spoiled the entire finale season of GOT.

While King Viserys Targaryen (Paddy Considine) loses his wife and son during childbirth, he ends up choosing his daughter Rhaenyra (Milly Alcock) as the heir to his iron throne, instead of his brother Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith). And that’s when Viserys reveals the secret that the Targaryens have been passing down the generations. And with the makers deciding to reveal the prophecy of an enemy emerging from North Westeros in the very first episode of ‘House of the Dragon’, ‘Game of Thrones’ fans seem to be quite disappointed with the revelation.

With the Targaryen’s aware of the prophecy and the threat that is expected to rise from the north, the negligence of it in the ‘Game of Thrones’ surely spoils the fantasy drama for many fans. Talking about the same during a conversation with Vanity Fair, HOTD showrunner Ryan Condal revealed that it was actually the franchise creator George R.R. Martin’s idea. And with the latter admitting that he intends to include the prophecy in his A Song of Fire and Ice books, it’ll be interesting to see how things turn out.

Meanwhile, with nine more episodes of ‘House Of The Dragon’ yet to release, fans are in for a real treat as the makers of GOT go 200 years back in their new spin-off series. And with an ensemble cast comprising of talented actors like Paddy Considine, Matt Smith, Emma D’arcy, Olivia Cooke, Rhys Ifans, Steve Toussaint and more, ‘House Of The Dragon’ is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat.
