Domestic violence is one of the most common crimes faced by women in India that is often ignored by society and the police alike. Alia Bhatt, Shefali Shah and Vijay Varma’s latest offering on Netflix titled Darlings provides a refreshing take on grave crime. 2. Delhi Crime

Shefali Shah’s starrer biographical series chronicles the heinous 2012 Delhi Gang Rape that shook not just India to its core but the waves resonated across the world. The series shows the police force working towards solving the case, headed by Shefali Shah’s character based on former Delhi Police DCP Chaya Sharma. The first season of the Netflix series won the Best Drama Series at the 48th International Emmy Awards and is currently gearing up for season 2.

3. Mai

A mother’s love knows no bounds but what about her fury? Sakshi Tanwar’s Mai on Netflix follows the story of a mother who watches her daughter die in front of her causing her to seek revenge. Along with the strong emotionality in the series, it also contained a few action scenes which took the fans by surprise.

4. The Fame Game

Everything that goes up, has to come down. A veteran actor soon realizes that her reigning era was over in Bollywood and she would be soon replaced by the younger generation stars. However, a mysterious twist comes to her story when she disappears without a trace. The Madhuri Dixit starrer Netflix show explores the dark side of the film industry exposing greed, power-hungry and fame-hungry people.

5. Aarya

Sushmita Sen’s Disney Plus Hotstar series follows the story of an ordinary woman taking it upon herself to protect her family after her husband is murdered. She ends up joining the Mafia gang and climbs up the ladder. The series was also nominated for International Emmy Awards for Best Drama series.
