Before you dive into the show this week, here are some things a She-Hulk or MCU novice needs to know:

Bruce Banner Connection
She-Hulk is all set to introduce Bruce Banner aka Hulk’s cousin Jennifer Walters. The trailer already hinted that Jen got her powers from Bruce and he helps her bring the green creature into control. In the comics, Bruce saves her life with a blood transfusion after being shot by gang members. While Bruce’s blood saves her life, it also gives her the ability to turn into a Hulk.

However, it seems like the makers may have changed the premise for the show, but Jen does get the powers from her cousin. Similar to the comics, she is seen trying to keep her identity a secret but eventually lives as the Hulk as a part-time lawyer and a superhero.

Breaking Fourth Wall
Deadpool is known to break the fourth wall on the big screen. However, Jennifer Walters is set to be the first star to do it in the MCU. The studio is known for slipping in some great witty jokes, but this time the character will be doing it directly with the audience. Breaking the fourth wall isn’t new was She-Hulk. In the comics, she often takes digs at the authors, but a clip from the show revealed, here Jen will be taking the liberty to have conversations with the audience.

Is She-Hulk Taking Place After The Blip
The trailer revealed Bruce as the Smart Hulk, indicating that the show takes place post-five-year blip, after which everyone had returned. In Avengers, Smart Hulk explained that losing against Thanos twice prompted him to improve himself, which led to the transformation.

Daredevil’s Second Cameo
Daredevil once appeared in the MCU alongside Tom Holland in Spider-Man: No Way Home. According to reports, he will be returning this time to aid his fellow attorney of the law. Daredevil aka Matt Murdoch is a New York City lawyer who was blinded by radioactive waste, which in turn ended up heightening his other senses. Matt ends up using his abilities to fight criminals he is unable to stop in his day job.

The show could help MCU establish a direct connection with Daredevil’s Netflix series. Since She-Hulk takes place in LA, it is unclear if Jennifer will be going to New York for a case of if a villain will bring Daredevil to Hollywood.

Abomination’s MCU Return
Another MCU connection She-Hulk is set to make is the original solo Hulk releases that did not star Mark Ruffalo. Abomination played by Tim Roth in Hulk’s first solo film will be making his third appearance in the MCU. Blonsky and Abomination both have made appearances in the trailer alongside Jen who seems to be defending him in court.

The last time Abomination was seen in the MCU, it was in a cage match with Wong (Benedict Wong), a powerful sorcerer, in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. He either returned or was brought back to the Max security prison in USA. The show might finally explain the Shang Chi cameo.

Wong Is The Sorcerer Supreme
With Doctor Strange gone during the blip, Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness revealed that Wong was titled The Sorcerer Supreme, the primary protector of Earth from mystical threats. He has become of the beloved supporting characters of MCU and She-Hulk could finally see him get some real action.
