Popularly known for making out-of-the-box movies like ‘Dev.D’, ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’, ‘Raman Raghav 2.0’ and many more, director Anurag Kashyap has teamed up with Taapsee Pannu once again for an sci-fi movie titled ‘Dobaaraa’. While the two are currently busy promoting their upcoming movie, Kashyap ended up declaring himself as the country’s ‘most nepotistic filmmaker’.
While the trailer of ‘Dobaaraa’ managed to strike a chord with the audience, fans hope Taapsee and Kashyap to weave their magic like ‘Manmarziyaan’ once again. Meanwhile, sharing his views on nepotism, Kashyap told News18, “I am the most nepotistic filmmaker in the country. What is nepotism? Okay fine, my daughter is not there in the films but I will not hire somebody who I don’t know. It’s not a camp, it’s not even favouritism. I need to know my people because I trust them.”
Explaining his point, the ace filmmaker admitted working with trusted people only while revealing how things have worked for him. “Actually, anybody will trust family, right, so for me my set is like my family. Ek ke through hi dusra aata hai, woh nepotism hi hai,” Kashyap added.
While Kashyap and Taapsee are leaving no stone unturned in promoting their upcoming film ‘Dobaaraa’ which is slated to release in theatres on August 19, the filmmaker’s comment did gain a lot of attention. An official remake of 2018 Spanish film ‘Mirage’, the upcoming movie will also feature Pavail Gulati, Nassar and Rahul Bhat in significant roles.
