It faced the wrath of the public after Aamir Khan’s old statements came to light which were deemed controversial. Soon, ‘Boycott Laal Singh Chaddha’ took over social media. Amidst the boycott trend, Aamir Khan tried to make amends with the public by requesting them to watch the film. On the other hand, Kareena Kapoor caught the heat after saying, ”If you don’t like our films, don’t watch our films” during a media interaction.

Responding to the same, she told RJ Siddharth Kannan, ”I think it’s only a section of people that are trolling. But genuinely, I think that the love the film is getting is very different. These are just a section of people who are probably on your social media, which is probably like 1%,”

Furthermore, the actor implored the audience to watch the film reasoning that there were hundreds of people involved in the project that deserved recognition. ”It’s been three years, we’ve waited so long. So, please don’t boycott this film, because it’s actually like boycotting good cinema. And people have worked so hard on it; we’ve had 250 people work on this film for two-and-a-half years”.
